The alarm goes off twice before I finally sit up, rubbing my face at 5.30 am. The house is dead quiet, still wrapped in darkness. I sit on the edge of the bed, letting myself wake up slowly. After a quick stretch, I drag myself to the bathroom. A splash of cold water shocks my system, wiping away the last traces of sleep. I brush my teeth, catch a glimpse of my reflectionโhair's a mess, but it doesn't matter.
